When is a new item ID assigned

I am needing to know, when an item ID is assigned? I know an itemID is assigned when an item is listed, if the item is automatically relisted by eBay is another itemID assigned? Also, if an item does not sell by the time the auction expires, and the item is relisted manually by choosing the 'relist' option (located at myeBay --> selling --> unsold) does the item receive a new itemID at that time? Thanks is advance for the help, Kenny

Hi, Yes, When an item ends, it has reached the end of its life. So when the item is relisted, it will get a new ItemID and there is a tag: RelistParentID: http://developer.ebay.com/DevZone/XML/docs/Reference/eBay/GetItem.html#Response.Item.RelistParentID which tells you about the itemID from which this Item was relisted. Hope this helps. Cheers!!!
