Can't get a user access token through the eBay UI

Hi there,

I am trying to get a user access token through the UI by following these instructions:

https://developer.ebay.com/api-docs/static/oauth-ui-tokens.html

I get all the way to step 5 and click the "I Agree" button on the Grant Application Access page, but then instead of getting a user access token, I am redirected to the following login page:

https://signin.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SignIn&ru=https%3A%2F%2Fauth.sandbox.ebay.com%2Foauth2%2FconsentSubmit

This seems weird, but I play along and login using my production (not sandbox) eBay credentials, and go through the 2 step verification process, i.e. I get a security code in a text message and enter the code and hit "Sign In", and then I am redirected back to this same login page again:

https://signin.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SignIn&ru=https%3A%2F%2Fauth.sandbox.ebay.com%2Foauth2%2FconsentSubmit

If I sign in again, I am redirected back to the same login page again.

So I'm stuck in a loop, and I'm not getting a user access token.

I must be missing something obvious, but can anyone tell me how to complete this process of getting a user access token through the UI?

I've searched the forum and read about lots of similar-sounding issues, but haven't found the answer to this specific issue.

Thanks for your help!

in general: there can go a lot of things wrong inside the browser, depends on cookies, cache and sometimes bad extensions. my first suggestion would be, to use a plain chrome without any extensions + an incognito window to be sure, that there aren't any existing or old cookies or anything old in the cache.

Thanks so much, @michab2003. I tried a Chrome incognito window and it worked! I got a token :-)

Just to record my experience, in case it helps anyone else - It was a little weird, as I was prompted to login to the sandbox (this was expected), and then I clicked "I Agree" on the Grant Application Access page (ok so far), but then I was prompted again to login to the sandbox (not expected, but I logged in again anyway), and then I was faced with the Grant Application Access page again (wasn't expecting to see this twice), so I clicked "I Agree" again, and then I was redirected back to the "Get a User Token Here" page where I had started from, where my token was now displayed. Success! Just for fun, I tried the process again in a new Chrome incognito window, and this time I only got prompted to login to the sandbox once, and then I immediately got a token. It didn't go through the Grant Application Access page this time - I'm guessing because something was saved from my previous attempt. So I'm sure @michab2003 is right and there is some caching going on and affecting this process.
