are the allowed strings in the new search api regressing?

In looking at the documentation for "q" sting parameter, it appears the type of string you are allowing is considerably less robust than before. For example, currently I might pass a string like this in the API call (quotation marks included) "dukes of hazzard" -kentucky. If I am reading the documentation correctly, the best I can do now is simply: Dukes of Hazzard.

Is this correct? Seems like much less control than before.

Hi @spencerkechi ,

You can use any keyword in the q parameter of search call. Only the * wildcard character is not allowed in this field. If you want to add quotation marks in the q paramenter, you can include it in the request.
