Product image URLs for multi-variation listings

For multi-variation listings, do the images URLs have to be sent with the product or with the item group? I currently send with the item product which works fine for listings with one variation, i.e. size. Now I'd like to list by size and colour. Problem I'm having is how to to tell eBay that this image URL is for this colour if I send them all with the item group. I thought if I send the image URLs with the product, this would be ideal. I tested this in sandbox but unfortunately no image shows if sent with product. Reverted back to item sending image URLs with item group and the images show. Not sure how to handle this. The documentation is not very clear about this.

I am aware that I need to create an inventory item group. I would like to know whether the Inventory API support multi-variaiton listing for COLOUR and SIZE to allow buyers to select the colour of the item first and then the size. I have already read the documentation you referred to, it does not answer my question. Is the above scenario possible with the Inventory API?

Hi @theshoeshackuk, An inventory item group is necessary if the seller would like to create and manage multiple-variation listings through the Inventory API. Hi @theshoeshackuk, You may use [UploadSiteHostedPictures][1] call to upload a picture to eBay Picture Services (EPS). You can either include a binary attachment, or supply a URL in the ExternalPictureURL field to the location of the picture on an external web server. Please go through the docs and let us know if it helps you. https://developer.ebay.com/api-docs/sell/inventory/resources/inventory_item/methods/createOrReplaceInventoryItem#request.product.imageUrls https://developer.ebay.com/DevZone/guides/features-guide/default.html#development/Variations-Configuring.html#DefiningPicturesforVariations [1]: https://developer.ebay.com/Devzone/XML/docs/Reference/eBay/UploadSiteHostedPictures.html

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that I'm using the new Sell API to list items. I need to know whether to send image URLs with int he product container and the item group container. The image URLs int he product container do not show in sandbox. If I send image URLs in the item group container, how do I tell eBay this image for this colour and the other image is for this colour?
