"Error: Return policy value is not valid. Please specify a valid return policy." using SellerProfiles
We recently implemented SellerProfiles in our API calls. I removed the `<ReturnPolicy>` attribute and adding the following: <SellerProfiles xmlns="urn:ebay:apis:eBLBaseComponents"> ... <SellerReturnProfile xmlns="urn:ebay:apis:eBLBaseComponents"> <ReturnProfileID>xxxxxxx</ReturnProfileID> </SellerReturnProfile> </SellerProfiles> However now when trying to list, I get this error: > Error: Return policy value is not > valid. Please specify a valid return > policy. Can anyone suggest why this is so?
Hi @safelincs , Instead of using the usual "ReturnsNotAccepted," don't specify a return policy container in your request. Just make sure you specify, clearly, in the item description that returns are not accepted. [DOC] Best Regards, eBay Developer Support :
Thanks for your reply. However, we don't have Item.ReturnPolicy at all. It doesn't appear in the feed. Instead, we have the We have the SellerProfiles with SellerReturnProfile specified and all settings in that profile.
@eram_developersupport we do offer returns to our customers and we do not want to omit this as it is a requirement for the eBay Premium Service scheme. Can you please explain what is wrong with our API request that follows the documentation and uses the correct return policy ID? Since experiencing this issue via the API we are also now having trouble managing policies through the eBay website. When updating a policy, most of the assigned listings will fail and be moved onto a copy of the policy. Trying to move listings from one policy to another only moves a handful, always less than 20, while the rest give the error "Please specify a valid return policy." which should not be possible as this is through the website, not the API, so we cannot specify an ID manually and can only select from the options shown to us by eBay's system. This has been going on for a week now and we have a large backlog of new and altered products in our systems that are waiting to synchronise over the API.
@eram_developersupport This problem with your system refusing to acknowledge valid return policy IDs has been going on for a week now. It is blocking our API requests and severely impacting eBay website functionality. We have a large backlog of new and altered listings and are working on a couple of projects to add even more products to our range. ![alt text] Not only is this affecting our business, but it also means eBay's business is being affected as we cannot list new items over the API and thus we will not be paying eBay any fees for these products. Please explain what the eBay developer support team are doing to investigate and rectify this. We would also appreciate an ETA on when your systems will start working again. : /storage/temp/2382-2019-11-14-ebay-policy-errors.png
