GetUser Problems

Is there any way of determining the User ID from an API token? I've tried getUser but it reports "Insufficient permissions to fulfill the request." I presume that's because I don't have 'commerce' in the scopes but when I try to add it I get an 'invalid_scope' error. I've just tried the old XML "GetUserRequest" but for some strange reason it reported "The API call "GeteBayOfficialTime" is invalid or not supported in this release."! I wasn't even calling that API! Has anyone managed to get any of this to work?

Hi @it_support_and_services , You are most welcome. As you asked that "Is there any way of determining the User ID from an API token?" I explore and found that there is no way of determining the User ID from an API token. Best Regards eBay Developer Support

@eram_developersupport Hi, Thanks for your reply. I think I need to use the getUser API but that requires the https://api.ebay.com/oauth/api_scope/commerce.identity.readonly scope. However, when I add the to the list of scopes to create a token, it reports "invalid_scope". https://developer.ebay.com/api-docs/static/oauth-app-token.html doesn't give any information about tokens. I've taken a snapshot of the screen to show you what I mean but when I try to attach it get an "Error parsing uploaded file".

Hi @it_support_and_services, As per the error message: -The OAuth Application Token is not generated with the correct scopes to make the guest checkout session call. Are you making the call from API Explorer: [ https://developer.ebay.com/signin?return_to=%2Fmy%2Fapi_test_tool?][1] Make sure you use the OAuth Application token and not the OAuth user token as the guest checkout session calls can be made only with the OAuth Application token: [ https://developer.ebay.com/api-docs/static/oauth-app-token.html][2] Hope the above helps. Best Regards eBay Developer Support [1]: https://developer.ebay.com/signin?return_to=%2Fmy%2Fapi_test_tool? [2]: https://developer.ebay.com/api-docs/static/oauth-app-token.html
