API Has Different Seller And Browser Sees Different Items
Anyone else notice GetSingleItem returning a different item and seller than browser visits? API returns item 26404467002, title: Swagman 2 Bike Bumper Mount RV Bike Rack, seller: racksforall Apparently it is the item on E-bay Germany:
https://www.ebay.de/itm//264044670028 This one even has different items at different sites:
https://www.ebay.com/itm//264044670028https://www.ebay.ca/itm//264044670028 So when I try those siteId values in call to GetSingleItem it returns the expected domain in ViewItemURLForNaturalSearch, yet those URLs go to different items--none of which match the seller racksforall. Starting to really doubt the documentation claims that: Item IDs are unique across all eBay sites
Something else is happening here, actually. Not reuse of item#s. Earlier this year, eBay started automatically redirecting users who land on completed item pages -- to another/different active item instead. (Personally, I'm not happy with their decision on this, bu that's another story.) When I click to eBay one of the examples above it redirects to another item. Notice the URL in detail -- it actually has a different item# from the original item#. And that original item# is appended to the URL as the 'oid' parameter for tracking purposes. I see "The listing you're looking for has ended" at the top of the page and a link to visit the actual completed original item. Below that I see "We found something similar" and the new/similar/active item that eBay's AI scripts have suggested I consider buying.
