GetCategorySpecifics returns nothing!

I'm trying to update our system to take into account Ebays Item Specifics instead of Attributes, as our customers are having problems listing items due to Item Specific errors.

An example of a request I'm doing to get a categories specifics is:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<GetCategorySpecificsRequest xmlns="urn:ebay:apis:eBLBaseComponents">
<RequesterCredentials>
<eBayAuthToken>.....</eBayAuthToken>
</RequesterCredentials>
<CategoryID>42025</CategoryID>
</GetCategorySpecificsRequest>

Ebay returns:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<GetCategorySpecificsResponse xmlns="urn:ebay:apis:eBLBaseComponents">
<Timestamp>2011-12-15T09:34:01.731Z</Timestamp>
<Ack>Success</Ack>
<Version>748</Version>
<Build>E748_INTL_BUNDLED_14113017_R1</Build>
</GetCategorySpecificsResponse>

Doesn't matter what category ID I give it, it will always return with the above XML. I can't get GetCategorySpecifics to return anything useful.

I'm using Ebay UK if that makes a difference?

Hi,

I am not able to reproduce your issue.  I took your exact request and was able to get a correct response.

Here are a few things you should check:

1.  Make sure you are using SiteID 3 (UK)

2.  Try adding this field into your request, <DetailLevel>ReturnAll</DetailLevel>

3.  Make sure you are using the correct endpoint, https://api.ebay.com/wsapi

Here is our tool that will make calls for you and help construct calls, https://developer.ebay.com/DevZone/build-test/test-tool/default.aspx.

If you are still having issues after this, I suggest opening a support ticket, http://developer.ebay.com/support/developersupport/

Best Regards,
eBay Developer Support

Just change your X-EBAY-API-COMPATIBILITY-LEVEL to the latest.
