How do the api call limits work

HI all

Can any one explain how the limits and time frame works for api listing calls?

The equation I have is:

100 calls per day multiplied by 500 listing per call = 50,000 listings in an 24hr period.

Is this above equation correct?

Is a listing call processed immediately?

Are their varying call limit levels depending on type of ebay seller account?

thanks

cpm

Hi,

The call limits depends on the API you are using:
http://developer.ebay.com/products/overview/call-limits/

Curently basic call limit is 5000 calls per day. Irrespective of what API call are you using, You can only make 5000 calls per day.

If you need higher limits, then you need to go through our Compatible Application Check  process, which is free of charge.

In Sandbox, you have essentially unlimited calls. However this environment is intended only for developing your application and testing your calls.

You dont answer the question. The question is when 100 calls are made, retrieving 500 listings each, what is the actual count for the limits, 100 or 50k?

Hi, If 100 calls for each of the 500 listings re made, then its 50K API Calls. Let me try to explain. Suppose if have 500 listings and you want to get the details for all the listings using the GetItemDetails API Call, then the count would be 500. Suppose, you then decide to make some changes to your listing, then if you use the ReviseItem call, then it would be another 100 calls. This way the calls keep adding to call limit. Cheers!!!!
