create inventory item api returns 204 but no new item in my sandbox account

I've created a sandbox account, got the oauth token generated, built a quick api test setup and it seems to send fine with at 204 response (which seems odd that its not success etc). But I cant find an item anywhere in that sandbox account. I have the same issue if I do this via the test tool at ( https://developer.ebay.com/my/api_test_tool). 204 response and no new item. What am I missing?

Hi juliaridle0, When an inventory is getting [published][1], the newly created listing that identified by [listingId][2] will be visible on eBay UI , sandbox.com for example. However; we don't yet have UI for displaying Inventory Items created via [Create Inventory Item call][3] but we are working on it. We will update the community when it's available. But it is there even though I can't see it, so I could write and test other things using that item?
