findItemsAdvanced: viewItemURL with affiliate parameter points to page without product details

I am new to this API so please excuse me if this is a very basic question. When I search with an empty affiliate.trackingId: http://svcs.ebay.com/services/search/FindingService/v1?OPERATION-NAME=findItemsAdvanced&SERVICE-VERSION=1.13.0&SECURITY-APPNAME=MYAPPNAME&affiliate.networkId=9&affiliate.trackingId=&RESPONSE-DATA-FORMAT=JSON&REST-PAYLOAD=true&categoryId=177&itemFilter(0).name=Condition&itemFilter(0).value=New&itemFilter(1).name=ListingType&itemFilter(1).value=FixedPrice&sortOrder=PricePlusShippingLowest&outputSelector=SellerInfo&keywords=80Q700V7US the viewItemURL points to a page with lots of details about the product (expected behaviour): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-Laptop-IdeaPad-300-80Q700V7US-i7-6500U-2-5ghz-8GB-1TB-DVDRW-15-6-Win10-/231875383350 However, when I populate affiliate.trackingId (in order to get an affiliated URL): http://svcs.ebay.com/services/search/FindingService/v1?OPERATION-NAME=findItemsAdvanced&SERVICE-VERSION=1.13.0&SECURITY-APPNAME=MYAPPNAME&affiliate.networkId=9&affiliate.trackingId=MYTRACKINGID&RESPONSE-DATA-FORMAT=JSON&REST-PAYLOAD=true&categoryId=177&itemFilter(0).name=Condition&itemFilter(0).value=New&itemFilter(1).name=ListingType&itemFilter(1).value=FixedPrice&sortOrder=PricePlusShippingLowest&outputSelector=SellerInfo&keywords=80Q700V7US I get an affiliated link that points to page without detailed information about the product: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=2&toolid=10044&campid=5337830225&customid=&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466&item=231875383350 One has to click "View Details" to get to the same page as in the non-affiliated example above. Is there a way to get an affiliated URL that directly points to the detailed page?

That's the Hybrid Landing Page that shows basic item info and then related items beneath. Read more about it [here on the ePN blog][1]. The pictures there show an early vertical layout of similar items, but the concept is the same. At some point after that blog post, eBay decided to make the HLP the default and new standard for affiliate links to item pages. But there isn't a direct way to disable this. I'm not aware of a way to request the non-HLP for your affiliatized links retrieved from the API. Instead, you'll need to ignore the links returned from the API and build your own affiliate/rover links. The general strategy is to use the Link Generator within the ePN portal to generate simple HTML rover links so you can learn the link structure, and code your own rover links, using the "Custom Destination URL" and specifying the eBay item URL yourself.
