Hi, None of our products have a Brand, MPN, UPC, ISBN, or EAN. How should we handle these new fields through our API as eBay now says that product identifiers are a requirement? Can they simply be ignored or must a dummy value be entered for some or all of these fields? Thanks Sid
From the AddFixedPriceItem documentation:
http://developer.ebay.com/devzone/xml/docs/reference/ebay/AddFixedPriceItem.html#Request.Item.ProductListingDetails.EAN Note: If the listing is being posted to a category that expects an EAN value, but one doesn't exist for the product, the seller must pass in the text that can be found in the ProductDetails.ProductIdentifierUnavailableText field of the GeteBayDetails response. To get the ProductDetails container to return in the GeteBayDetails response, 'ProductDetails' should be included as a DetailName value in the call request. The issue I'm running into is GeteBayDetails is ignoring the compatibility level header I'm sending and keeps returning a version that predates 'ProductDetails' as an applicable DetailName, so I can't get the ProductIdentifierUnavailableText from it.
Hi collectorbookstore, Thanks for your reply, but still a bit confused. Our bespoke items will not have values for any of these fields. If we do nothing and enter no values for any of these fields for the categories below, will we be able to post new listings? - Baby - Books, Comics & Magazines - Business, Office & Industrial - Cameras & Photography - Clothes, Shoes & Accessories - Computers/Tablets & Networking - DVDs, Films & TV - Health & Beauty - Home, Furniture & DIY - Mobile Phones & Communication - Music - Musical Instruments - Pet Supplies - Sound & Vision - Sporting Goods - Toys & Games - Vehicle Parts & Accessories - Video Games & Consoles Thanks Sid
